I've created this page in memory of a loved one.
Darren was an amazing man with a beautiful spirit, determination and zest for life that was dealt an impossible hand of stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer. Inoperable. Incurable. Life limiting. He fought so bravely and after a life of travel and adventure and discovery enjoyed almost 9 months post-diagnosis with his wife and two teenage daughters at home, where he passed so beautifully and peacefully in July 2025, aged just 52.
Darren was one in a million. He was an entrepreneur that had launched multiple start ups. He volunteered in his community. He had faith. He has friendships and connections that are as old as he was. He inspired teams he worked with. He was a mentor. He started businesses where he knew he could make a difference. He strived to make paths better and easier for those that followed him.
With all of those directions, he battled diagnosed depression and anxiety and was seeking treatment for work-related PTSD in the year before his brain cancer diagnosis.
Darren always looked for gaps in the system where he could make the most impact and this is where he would be most proud to be represented, in making a difference to funding research, support and advocacy for brain cancer patients.
Survival rates for brain cancer have barely changed in 30 years. Time to make change.
