In Memory of Jacqueline Mary Smith

By Lee SMITH

I've created this page in memory of Jacqueline Mary Smith.

In loving memory of Jacqui

We've set up this page for our beautiful Jacqueline, or Jacqui as everyone knew her. Tom's partner for 64 years and wife for 59, and our Mum, Nana and Great Nana.

Jacqui first became unwell at the end of July. On 21 August she was diagnosed with glioblastoma, and on 18 September we lost her. The cancer was so aggressive that there was no treatment the doctors could offer. From the first signs to saying goodbye was just seven weeks.

She loved her family more than anything, and we never once doubted it. She was funny, kind and generous, always ready with a cwtch, and always put everyone else before herself. Tell her you loved her and she'd say, "You go alright." We miss her terribly.

Her kindness went well beyond our family. For over 15 years, Jacqui and Tom volunteered coordinating the Vibe pantries in Tweed, Palm Beach and Burleigh, getting low-cost and free food to people doing it tough. Jacqui grew up with rationing in post-war Wales, so she knew what it was like to go hungry. She didn't want anyone else to.

Jacqui never had the chance of treatment. We'd love to help change that for other families, which is why we're raising money for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation in her name.

If you'd like to honour Jacqui, please consider making a donation, or share this page with your family and friends.

Diolch o galon, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It means so much to us. ❤️

My Updates

For Mum ❤️

Friday 25th Sep
We created this page as a family to honour Mum and continue the way she lived, caring for others.

For over 15 years, Jacqui helped provide free and affordable food to people doing it tough. Giving to others was simply part of who she was.

Jacqui never had the chance to receive treatment for glioblastoma. By raising funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation in her name, we hope to help create better treatment options, more hope and more time for other families.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shares this page or leaves a message. Every contribution helps keep Jacqui’s memory and generous spirit alive. ❤️

For my beautiful Mum. You felt like home, and I'll miss you every single day. You spent your life making sure others had what they needed, so this feels like the right way to honour you. I hope one day no family has to lose someone this quickly. I love you forever. You go alright, Mum. ❤️ Louise

Tom Smith, Jacqui's Husband

For the Woman I Love My wife was the best wife a man could ever have. She was my best friend, the love of my life, and the person who stood by me through every part of our incredible journey together. It has been heartbreaking to lose her to brain cancer. She spent her life caring for me, our family, our friends, and the people in our community. She gave so much of herself to others, always with love and kindness. I’m asking for your help in her memory. Brain cancer research and treatment are urgently needed, but the costs can be overwhelming. Every donation, no matter the amount, can help support research, improve treatment, and bring us closer to finding a cure. If you’re able to donate, my family and I would be deeply grateful. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean just as much. She gave so much love to everyone around her. I want to honor her life by helping create a lasting legacy in her name and supporting other families facing this terrible disease. Thank you for remembering my beautiful wife and for standing with our family during this difficult time. ❤️
