I've created this page in memory of a loved one.
Hi,
On the 26th of August 2024, our beautiful mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive and devastating brain cancer. Her journey began immediately with a 7-hour craniotomy brain surgery, where surgeons did everything they could to remove her tumour. From that moment on, she fought with everything she had.
Mum battled for 17 months, right through until the 25th of January 2026, driven by one powerful wish; to live, and to stay with her children for as long as possible.
During this time, she endured 54 rounds of radiation, 15 rounds of chemotherapy, 75 hyperbaric oxygen therapies, PEMF therapy, hundreds of natural therapy tablets, and over 100 physical therapy sessions as she worked tirelessly to regain her mobility. She fought so hard through every setback, pushing herself again and again because she wanted her life back.
We explored every option available to us, spending thousands of dollars in the hope of buying more time, more memories, and more moments together.
She fought to the very end.
GBM slowly took so much from her, her independence, which she valued deeply, her ability to walk, her sense of humour, and eventually even her beautiful smile. Watching this disease steal pieces of the person we loved was heartbreaking beyond words. Life will never be the same without her.
What makes this even harder to accept is that standard treatments for brain cancer have barely changed in over 20 years. Families like ours are left clinging to hope while facing a disease with limited options and devastating outcomes.
We are fundraising in Mum’s honour to support Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, whose vital work helps fund world-class research into better treatments, longer survival, and ultimately a cure. If sharing Mum’s story can help another family have more time together, then her fight continues through this.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps move research forward.
This is for our mum.
And for every family who deserves more time, more options, and more hope.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🤍
